Overview
A Data Analyst applies strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. This role impacts the bottom line through a data-driven approach to problem-solving. Data Analysts collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data into usable information, turn that information into insights, and translate those insights into business decisions.
Related Technical Instruction (RTI)
As part of RTI, apprentices receive instruction in:
- Excel fundamentals
- Presentations
- SQL
- Python
- Data Visualization with Power BI
- Data Analytics on AWS
On-the-Job Training (OJT)
During OJT, Data Analysts generally work on tasks substantially similar to the following:
- Working with databases to extract and manipulate data
- Writing SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data
- Using visualization tools to communicate findings
- Using statistical techniques and analytical tools to identify patterns, trends, and relationships in data
- Preparing reports and presentations to summarize findings and insights
- Communicating complex data in a simple and concise manner to stakeholders
