Overview
An IT Support Professional is tasked with installing and configuring workstations, servers, and IT services, as well as supporting end-users (either within the business or externally for clients). Apprentices in this role may branch into specializations of data center technicians or network technicians.
Related Technical Instruction (RTI)
As part of RTI, IT support professional apprentices generally receive instruction in:
- Computer Hardware and Technical Support
- Network Fundamentals
- Linux or Windows System Administration
On-the-Job Training (OJT)
During OJT, IT support professionals generally work on tasks substantially similar to the following:
- Hardware
- Networking
- Software
- Workflow management and organizational processes
