An Information Security Engineer’s role is to develop and oversee the implementation of information security procedures and policies within the different Information Security specialties, such as DFIR, PenTesting, GRC, AppSec, and more.

As part of RTI, apprentices receive instruction in:

On-the-Job Training (OJT)
During OJT, Information Security Engineers generally work on tasks substantially similar to the following:
- Designing, building, and testing networks
- Configuring and protecting cloud data stores and local databases
- Analyzing security requirements and configuring networked systems
- Monitoring and configuring access control, authentication, encryption, and cryptographic systems, including intrusion detection and penetration testing
- Conducting security and risk assessments and system audits
- Developing and implementing incident response and business continuity plans
