Cincinnati Apprentices Begin Training

In April, our first cohort of Cincinnati-based software development apprentices began their training at MAX Technical Training.  These nine apprentices come from a variety of backgrounds, including secondary education, package handling, and the restaurant industry. More than half of this cohort is female, and their ages range from 22-45 years old.

One apprentice in this cohort is Amber Kidwell, who’s a graduate of Northern Kentucky University and has several years of experience working in human resources at Great American Insurance. Though she’s been interested in the tech sector since her time in college, she hadn’t been able to pursue it as a career path until Apprenti Cincinnati launched. Now, she says, she can’t wait to begin her new journey as a software developer.

Our expansion to Cincinnati came about through a partnership between Apprenti and the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, which heard feedback from businesses about the increased need for tech jobs. Alongside Northern Kentucky University and Great American Insurance, we are also partnering with Kroger and Sogeti to build and deliver tech workforce in Cincinnati.

We look forward to watching these apprentices’ skills grow as they continue on in their apprenticeships!
